5 Stars This is a quick easy read and a great investment
With the ever changing job market I purchased this book with the idea of sharpening my resume skills in the event I need it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the book helped in many more ways. For example, in skill #4 dealing with a bad manager, it not only made me think about dealing with bad managers but also made me think about how I was managing people. This is a quick easy read and a great investment. I purchased 2 copies and gave one to a friend of mine.
5 Stars Excellent
Excellent book for anyone looking to change careers or move up within their organization. [...]
5 Stars Good Book and quick read… top notch info
Full disclosure.. I know the author from working with him a few years ago. The author had a head for business then and still has his touch.
I enjoyed reading the book and it offered some timely information for all types of people. If you are actively looking for a new job, or improving your existing career the skills offered are helpful in all areas. I would recommend the book even if I didn’t know the author.
4 Stars Good common sense advice for today’s (and tomorrow’s) job market
Well written with real world anecdotes and practical advice which makes this book a quick read and well worth the money spent. The “5 necessary skills” detailed are excellent tools needed for those just entering the workplace as well as good reminders for those who’ve been around a while. I liked that Pearson didn’t drone on like some job hunting books do, but rather got to the point fairly quickly about why each skill is necessary and how they will aid you in today’s ever-challenging job market.
5 Stars Spot-on advice
In a sea of career “advice” books, this one stands out. It’s clear and concise, to-the-point, and gets you focused where you need to be. Two thumbs up.
